Still not convinced? Well here are 4 reasons to LOVE pizza:

  1. Pizza is quite the social food, it brings people together
  2. Your body craves carbs, so it's no surprise that pizza is people's #1 comfort food.
  3. It can be a snack or meal, enjoyed hot or cold
  4. There are so many different ingredient combinations that you can literally never get sick of pizza

Now that we know what makes pizza so amazingly addictive let's start cooking.

The Toppings

Preheat the oven to 400° F.

Next, dice the tomatoes, mince the garlic, chop the fresh basil, and cut the cheese into 1-inch-by-1-inch cubes.

You can also use dried basil if you don't have any fresh. Although, I do find that the fresh basil and tomatoes help mimic those classic Margherita flavors a bit better.

To create the pizza sauce, mix the garlic and tomato sauce together. Set aside.

The Italian Seasoning

Now, in a small mixing bowl, stir together the basil, sage, rosemary, thyme, and olive oil. Alternatively, you can use store boughten Italian seasoning, which works just as good.

The Pizza Dough

Next, roll out the pizza dough and cut it into 17 even squares/rectangles.

Then, on each half of every pizza dough square, add a spoonful of the tomato sauce mixture, followed by a couple of pieces of tomatoes and basil. Then, top each with a piece of vegan cheese.

Now, take the side that doesn't have any toppings and fold it over the side that does, then pinch the dough under. Fold, then pinch the sides under the mini pizza bites as well. This will create a well-rounded pizza pocket.

Next, brush the Italian herbed oil over each mini Margherita stuffed pizza bite.

Home Stretch

Finally, place the Margherita stuffed pizza bites onto a greased baking sheet and cook at 400° F for about 8-10 minutes.

If Margherita pizza is too plain for you, you can also take your favourite toppings and stuff them into the pizza crust.
